NOTD: $OPI Metro Chic - Not quite living up to the hype.

Behold OPI for Sephora Metro Chic - the most talked about nail polish of 2008. It sort of looks like dirt. While I don't mind the color of dirt on my nails; I prefer OPI You Don't Know Jaques from the France Collection. YDKJ is more brown and the application was better.

It looks much better on you than it did on me! But yeah, I think it's a bit over-hyped..

I dont have this one, but I do have YDKJ - I was not impressed by it. Maybe all the hype ruined it for me :)

Hi girls/guys!

Thanks for the comments. I do like the polish, I guess I'd just expected... more? Like it was something special, ya know?

I liked the France collection too; 'Tickle My France-y' was my favorite polish.

Though I love the packaging and the formulation of 'OPI for Sephora', I'm not crazy about the colors. I purchased 'Run With It', which looked like a shimmery Dove Grey under the store's dim lighting, but immediately turned into a flashy silver in the glare of day, as well as under indoor lighting. Yuck.

I picked this up on a recent trip to the US and I really liked the colour on me, liked the way it changed in diff light. I definitely found myself looking at my nails a lot while I was wearing it. I don't have YDKJ tho. Looking forward to seeing your haul from London!

I remember it took me sooo many trips to Sephora to look for this color and it was always sold out.

In the end I was pretty happy with it. And I think it looks great on you!
