NOTD: $OPI IM Beauty

Before we go to the NOTD, I wanted to post a poll for you guys. I'm thinking about posting about makeup a bit. It's probably not something that would happen frequently. It's more that I'd like to share if I find a really fantabulous (or craptastic) product. What do you think? Feel free to post a comment.

I think yellow is going to be a hot trend for nail polish this spring and summer, so I was really excited that my boy friend picked up the new yellow OPI for Sephora polish for me. I don't really know what to think about it. The end result is quite lovely, but getting there is a total pain. The polish applies incredibly streaky. Forget using less than 4 coats cause it's just not gonna happen. On the other hand, if you do apply 4 coats, you get a rather lovely, semi sheer, soft yellow manicure. My picture is 4 coats of polish because I just can't convince myself to do 5 coats.

I like yellow nail polish. I think this looks nice on you. I have a hard time with yellow and my skin tone.

Yep, this one took 4 coats on me also, but I loved the lemony yellow look of it...

That is a beautiful shade on you. I don't know if I said this before, but you could be a hand model. I think I'll have to buy this also.

I agree that yellow will be hot. How about Rihanna's smiley face nails? We give instructions on how to create that look and make it indestructible with gel on our blg: http://www.nsinails.com/blog/index.php/2009/03/04/nail-art-celebrity-nail-art-colored-acrylics-color-gels-nail-styles-nail-designs-nail-art-designs-acrylic-nails-gel-nails/

I like that it isn't so bright like a lot of yellows but wow 4 coats, that is a shame.

The color reminds me of yellow highlighter pens. Sinful Colors makes a similar shade, for a fraction of the price.

I think this one is worth the hassle. I was able to get by with three very thick coats :)

Interesting content.

Just wanted to share some information that may help busy professionals caught up with work and who have less time to maintain their nails. You can try out gel nails which are now becoming a hot favorite as they are natural looking even without nail tips and the best way for nail enhancement. Also, if you are allergic to those strong smelling chemicals which you can experience with acrylic nails, then you should use gel nails as these are odorless.

However, when you are planning on gel nail application, make sure you approach a nail salon or a nail artist who is well versed with gel nails and is properly trained and mastered in gel applications. This will save you from problems that can arise with improper gel nail applications.
