Review: Yves Rocher Dissolvant DOUX Nail Polish Removrer

Gross, gross, gross. This is my opinion of this product. Really, how hard can be it be to make a decent nail polish remover? Pretty hard if you're Yves Rocher, apparently.

Ingredients: Ethyl Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Propylene Glycol, Aqua, Ricinus Communis, Parfum, Etocrylene, Prunus Dulcis, CI 14700, CI 60725

Let us discuss the smell first. OMG the smell is so unbelievably nasty. It's like a gruesome mix of cookies and chemicals. My boy friend leaves the room when I open this bottle. It makes me sick to my stomach.

The bottle is poorly designed. The opening is too large so you get too much remover on your felt. At least that means I'll use it up quicker.

The text on the back of the bottle says: "Gentle Nail Polish Remover - Enriched with the nourishing and softening agents of sweet almond oil to gently remove polish from the nails." The remover doesn't feel oily like some acetone-free removers. That's good. It does something that's worse. It appears to dissolve the polish, but instead of getting soaked up by the felt, it leaves a layer of dissolved polish on my skin and nails. Ironically this layer doesn't scrub off and has to be removed with... NAIL POLISH REMOVER. Not cool. The product is really cheap, but not cheap enough for how crappy it is.

Verdict:

1/5 Fauxnad plates. Never again!

That sounds like to much work, you have to remove the remover?!! I think i would trash it!

Or keep it around incase you ever need your bf to leave the room :)

Maybe this will make a nice pepper spray alternative?(It's cheaper and sounds far more effective.)

ahahaha. I love the new rating system.

I was once drawn to buy a polish remover that smelled like pina colada. Well, it smelled good but it did the same melty gross thing yours did. polish remover fail. :(

Brooke: lol! I'm probably going to use it... Just because I'm terrible at throwing stuff out :/

Citrine: ROFL. I should test that!

Amanda: lol, glad you enjoyed it!

Askmewhats: Sigh. You would think it should be pretty easy to make polish remover!

Jen: Yuck. That just sucks so much!
