I wanted to wear Zoya Lily, but I couldn't open it. The boy friend is not home, and he usually opens stubborn nail polish bottles lol.
Then I decided on Sally (Satan) Hansen Nail Prism in Pink Pearl. After about 3 coats I realized that is was streaky and sheer. Hmmm. Flakies make things better, I thought. I picked up Sinful Green Ocean which looks gorgeous in the bottle. Unfortunately Sinful flakies aren't nearly as good as Nfu-Ohs. The Sinfuls are much less dense, the flakes vary greatly in size, and they tend to leave the surface of the nail very rough. I did two coats of the Sinful, and I actually thought it looked pretty good. Until I photographed it:
Ew?
After I got home from work, I decided to test out my new Konad Coraline kit. I used the special Konad polish in Violet Pearl (at least that's what I think it is; the konad polishes don't have the names printed on them).
I used c06 for the french tip and c02 for the heart. The french tip was much easier to work with than expected. I'll definitely be using that plate more.

I have this particular sinful. It does the same thing. When I layer it over another polish! It's like the polish is all wrinkled or smudged. Your konading is very pretty though!
Hello dear Pix!!! This mani looks.....interesting!! lol I have had days like that, where I just keep adding something to a bad base coat and it just keeps going down hill from there :)
Sorry to hear that your manicure went so bad today :( If it's any consolation, it looks pretty neat after the Konad, though!
I run my stubborn bottles under the faucet with hot hot water. Loosens 'em right up!
The purple konad looks nice!
I do like your Konad. What a shame with the other two polishes. I just had to laugh a little because the polish does look wrinkly. I hate when that happens. It's so dissapointing. The best thing is, polish remover and a new manicure!
I forgot to add, I had a really stubborn bottle to open last night that even the bf couldn't loosen, so he got some plyers and it opened right up, and it didn't even leave gouges in the lid. Of course working with tools is "boy work" so you might not even want to attempt that!
When I can't open something, I use a latex/rubber glove, putting on top of the cap then twist, it will open much more easily...It's like maximizing traction or something like that...
Well, both my roommate and I are wimps who haven't done one push-up in our lives...
Some things just look better in person. Texture doesn't always read well. The Konad certainly makes the mani camera ready. I would definitely try a pink or lilac Konad over a sparkly sheer.
