NOTD: Sally Hansen #57 Lavender Marquis

Wow, I really like this color. It's beautiful and very Barbie. Application was as atrocious as I expected. It dragged and it never really seemed to dry. I also think it's more pink than lavender.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Chestnut + Konad m65

OMG, sorry for the crappy application. It's not the polish; it's me. The polish is amazing. Unfortunately I was really hungry and the food at dinner was way too good, resulting in me eating WAY too much. It actually made me feel a little sick. Not really the best way to get a good manicure, and certainly not the way to Konad! I also think I need to file my Konad stamper a bit. It's not transferring the images well :( I used China Glaze Admire for the stamp.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Nail Prism in Lapis Amethyst

Wow, this photographed so much better last time I wore it :( It's a very pretty shimmer with a bit of a duochrome effect.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Honeymoon Red

This is actually not a bad polish especially considering the horrors that Sally Hansen has inflicted on my nails in the past. It's a deep red (darker than what the picture shows) with very subtle shimmer. Pigmentation was good. I did three coats, but two would probably have been sufficient. The formula was a little difficult to work with. The polish had an annoying tendence to pool around the cuticles.

NOTD: Sinful #220 Green Ocean over Sally Hansen Pink Pearl + Konad c06 & c02

Oh my, this manicure just continues to piss me off :(

I wanted to wear Zoya Lily, but I couldn't open it. The boy friend is not home, and he usually opens stubborn nail polish bottles lol.

Then I decided on Sally (Satan) Hansen Nail Prism in Pink Pearl. After about 3 coats I realized that is was streaky and sheer. Hmmm. Flakies make things better, I thought. I picked up Sinful Green Ocean which looks gorgeous in the bottle. Unfortunately Sinful flakies aren't nearly as good as Nfu-Ohs. The Sinfuls are much less dense, the flakes vary greatly in size, and they tend to leave the surface of the nail very rough. I did two coats of the Sinful, and I actually thought it looked pretty good. Until I photographed it:

Ew?

After I got home from work, I decided to test out my new Konad Coraline kit. I used the special Konad polish in Violet Pearl (at least that's what I think it is; the konad polishes don't have the names printed on them).

I used c06 for the french tip and c02 for the heart. The french tip was much easier to work with than expected. I'll definitely be using that plate more.

NOTD: Sinful #19 Strip Poker + Fauxnad K06 with Sally Hansen Black Pearl

Remember to, you know...

Can I just say how excited I was to use this Sally Hansen Chrome for my Fauxnad/Konad? When I saw the name I immediately thought:

And I was expecting something like this:

Even the bottle looked like a black pearl! Instead I got a boring silver that blended too much with the frosty look of the Sinful polish. Impossible to photograph. I hate you, Sally Hansen.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Fuchsia Flare + Diamonds

Well look at this hot mess!

Today provides another proof that I just do not learn. You'd think I'd have given up on Sally Hansen now (except for the awesome nail prism which she discontinued... bitch), but NO. I keep buying them. This one was from a lot I bought on ebay. I don't think it's available anymore, at least not in this style of bottle. If it is discontinued/reformulated I don't consider it a great loss since this polish sucks. Application is terrible. The brush sucks and it appears to scrape polish off when you're applying subsequent layers, sort of like what some holos do if you don't let layers dry in between. The finish just looks gross; it's somewhere between glossy and matte and it doesn't appear to be even. I guess the correct term is "slimy". Pigmentation sucks. The picture is 3 coats and it's still not opaque. It also made some disgusting looking bubbles that don't show in the pic.

Looks like crap. But we all know what cures crap, right? Glitter does! So I digged out another Sally Hansen polish. This one is Diamond from the reformulated/rebottled Diamond Strength line (should be named the Satan line instead if you ask me). It actually sort of surprised me by being not ugly and decent to apply. I guess I can live with this manicure for another day.

NOTD: OPI Done Out In Deco + Fauxnad K04 with Sally Hansen Moonstone

The Sally Hansen Chrome polishes work very well with Konads. They are thinner and dry faster than the Konad special polishes, but they are smooth and very pigmentet. I used Sally Hansen Chrome in Moonstone and my GCOOL Fauxnad (fake Konad) plate K04 for this mani.

And to make today even more awesome, here is a lovely Guerlain eyeshadow palette that the boy friend also brought back from his trip. He didn't intend to give it to me yet, but I was sick and he wanted to cheer me up a bit :)

The packaging is so pretty (even with my fingerprints all over it.....)

Lovely spring pastels:

NOTD: Sally Hansen Nail Prism in Amber Ruby

Hmmm. This is strange. The pictures of this polish seem to only show the ruby version, while I see the brown version when looking at my nails just now. You can sort of see a bit of the brown if you look at the bottle. Duochromes - tricksy creatures! I quite like this polish. After the satan polish fiasco I wanted to wear a Sally Hansen that I knew I'd like. The nail prisms have never disappointed. This one applied smoothly and was opaque in 3 coats.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Royal Romance - Frustration in a Bottle

Well hello there, nail polish from Hell. Can't believe this is my Valentine's manicure.... A least the boy friend got me a big red heart filled with LUSH stuff. Awwwww.

This polish sucks really bad. I can't believe I paid quite a bit for it (Sally Hansen is expensive here). It's pure crap, really. Application is terrible: tip pull, streaking, brush marks, smudging. I just wanted to throw it in the trash.
And the color isn't even that pretty. I can't wait to take it off.

That'll teach me to fall for a pretty bottle.....

To make me (and maybe you) feel better, here is a picture of one of my cats breaking into my gerbil's cage with the gerbil watching from a safe spot. My gerbil's name is NomNom btw, and he is the star of the house!

NOTD: Sally Hansen Exquisite Peach

This is a polish from the Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Nail Color that I picked up on ebay. I was hoping it would be opaque, but it turned out to be semi sheer. The picture is 3 coats. It's a lovely coral with teal and silver shimmer. It's quite stunning. In general I don't like sheers when my nails are long. Some of the white parts of my nails turn transparent when I grow them out. No idea why.

NOTD: Konad fail with Zoya Pasha, Sally Hansen Platinum French, and Konad m15

Ummm. I'm not very good at centering the image on my nail. I actually almost missed the nail here hehe. I used white Konad polish, m15 plate and a coat of Sally Hansen Platinum French. I think it's supposed to be used on the tips of french manicures. I never do french mani, but I do buy a lot of crap on ebay (including this). I wish it was a bit more sparkly.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Nail Prism in Lapis Amethyst

In my opinion this color is simply magical. I can't stop staring at my nails. I had to use 4 coats to get good coverage, but it's so worth it. The color is a little more green than the pictures show. The shimmer is a gorgeous light blue-green color.

A problem I have with the Nail Prisms is that they all seem to dry very slowly - even with a fast drying top coat like Poshe. I make sure I apply them at least a couple of hours before I go to bed to avoid waking up with sheet marks.

NOTD: Sally Hansen Nail Prism in Bronze Coral

I'm still not back yet! Two more days :)

This is such a pretty color, a subtle duochrome (the bronze is more obvious than in this pic, in some lights it is completely bronze and very beautiful). The formula sort of sucks. It dries slowly but chips fast. I don't think I would wear this if I planned on having a long lasting mani.

Sorry about the dry skin on my hands. I got a little trigger happy with the acetone.

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength Haul

I haven't seen a lot of Sally Hansen in Denmark, so I was very excited to see these. The price was outrageous as always, but I still wanted to pick some up:

05 Diamonds, 65 Nude Shimmer, 77 Antique Bronze, 61 Royal Romance, 57 Lavender Marquis

Tomorrow is HAPPY HOLO DAYS. WOOT, WOOT. If you don't know what it is, I'll tell you tomorrow. Wear a holo!
